For 30 years Bradley has heard on a daily basis ..
"please turn off the lights and television if you are not in the room"
"turn off the lights please"
"turn the *!*!* lights off!"
"turn off the lights would you please!!!!"
and on and on.
He would leave the TV on just in case he passed by it, afraid he might miss something ... as he walked around the house. He would turn a light on as he entered a room and "never turn it off" when he exited... (Does this sound familiar at all?) There was no connection to power usage, monthly bill, or carbon footprint. One early morning, I noticed a light on in the garage. I opened the door and wow...there was a light shining, nightly, on "The Harley." (Who is this man I'm living with I wondered?) In amazement, I asked ...
"Is the Harley afraid of the dark?"
Not much needed to be said after that!
Since the solar system has been installed, he is a changed man and so is my daily and ongoing mantra. Now I hear,
"I want to make sure we use as little energy as possible so we build up our PG&E energy credits!"
Lights are turned off, sometimes never turned on. The TV is on only when we are in the room watching it...woweee! Now he is ''making sure "I" am conserving energy.
I hear oftentimes...let's go away for the day so we don't use any electricity! And, best of all, The Harley is no longer afraid of the dark!
Well, I can't thank you enough!
